My name is Derek Green along with my wife Lacey Green. We started this business to not only help us achieve our dream of being more location independent but to help others see the beautiful locations this country has to offer. Our home base is in northern lower Michigan but we will travel anywhere in the states. Prior to working on RV's we worked in many high end homes which we were known for our attention to detail and cleanliness. It was through that business Green's Custom Painting that lead the way to where we are today. Along with the 18 years of construction and painting, I attended NRVTA in Athens, Texas. This is one of only a few schools in the USA training people specifically as RV Technicians and Inspectors. Not only was I able to pick up some knowledge to go with the experience I have gained throughout the years, it has also opened the door to a great group of resources. Let's face it we all run into a situation sometimes we might not have the answer to or can not figure out but good chance someone in the NRVTA group has and together all problems find a solution.
9-100Ah Battle Born Batteries, Dual Victron Multi-Plus 3000Va Inverter Chargers wired in split-phase, 6 SanTan Solar 300 Watt panels connected to a Victron 150/100 MPPT, 4 Grape Solar 180 Watt panels connected to a Victron 100/50 MPPT, 8 Newpowa 100 Watt made into 4 sets of portable panels connected to a Victron 150/70 MPPT, Victron Orion 12/12/30 DC/DC Charger to charge from tow vehicle while driving, Victron Lynx System for all 12v connections; Power-In, Shunt, and Distributor x 2, Micro-Air
A complete solar system (Inverter, Batteries, and Panels) has many benefits. The system is wired into you current RV electrical system. As long as you have power (Ah) in your batteries your RV will function just the same as if its plugged into shore power. Every item in your RV can be run off your system including the microwave and air conditioning.
Besides the obvious freedom it provides to avoid campgrounds by boondocking without giving up amenities. This makes stopping at rest areas to eat, feed dogs, use the bathroom, etc. so much better when you can turn the air conditioning on for that hour. "Lot-docking" is so much better when you can still watch TV or make that much needed coffee in the morning to get going in your normal coffee maker. If the power goes out at your RV park or even your sticks & bricks home you would still have a fully functioning RV.
Every system has its limitations and everyone's needs are a little different. Some need reliable air conditioning to keep pets comfortable and safe. Some just want your 12v battery to stay charged . The great thing is we can build you a system to fit your budget now meeting as many needs as we can with the ability to easily grow the system over time.
We would love the opportunity to discuss your RV Tech and/or Solar needs with you today. Please reach out to Cross Country RV Tech and Solar through phone, text, or email and we will get you plugged into nature!
